Chandelier, that is.

I got caught hugging picked up this totally gorg chandelier at IKEA last week.

Completely unnecessary purchase? Yes.

What can I say? It was love at first sight. I was already thinking about spray painting my existing dining room chandelier Oil Rubbed Bronze, but when I laid eyes on this beauty, I knew I had to kick mine to the curb.

It’s nickel finish and downward facing bulbs left us without much style and blind half the time (despite installing a dimmer switch).

So, I made the switch. I’m proud to say I did the wiring without the help of my handy husband. My bro did help me with the holding part (it’s really a two person job unless you’re WAY up high because your arms get tired!)

Much to my surprise and delight, when I turned the breaker back on the house didn’t blow up! I guess I did pay attention in that one circuit class I took in college…

{Ignore the fact that it looks crooked here because the table isn’t centered}

I can’t wait to refinish the table to complete the look. So what do you think? Do you love it as much as I do?

    LOVE the new chandelier! What a crazy idea though, to have both a candle chandelier and electrical/light chandelier in one! That’s wonderful. Can’t wait to see it with the table re-do! Nice find!

    I LOVE IT!!! Love that it has both lights AND candles! Can’t wait to see your table redo. I’m planning one soon, so it’ll be nice to see one done first.
