I’ve been thinking about redoing the guest bathroom since I brightened up the kitchen and living room with new paint. It just doesn’t flow anymore with the rest of the first floor.

The green/cranberry Asian fusion is just not working anymore. So here’s my plan.

First things first, the stripes in the background are going up on the walls. It’s Behr’s Burnished Clay (as seen in my living room, kitchen, and dining room) and Painter’s White. I’m excited to try painting stripes for the first time.

1. Our existing light fixture, which I’ll spray paint oil rubbed bronze.

2. A new framed mirror like this one from World Market (although I’m hoping to DIY something by cutting down and framing the existing  mirror)

3. Blue paisley shower curtain from Target (although I’d LOVE an Ikat one.)

4. I’d love to fill this navy and white striped vase with some white hydrangea.

5. A vanity similar to ours for reference.

6. I saw this braided knit rug at Restoration Hardware. Fellow knitters will recognize stockinette stitch-totally easy! I’m going to make this rug for less than the $840 price tag :)

7. These framed pictures are from Pottery Barn, but I have some ideas for my own versions using fabric or craft paper in navy/white patterns. You can find sea fans at craft stores and pop them in a frame for a super easy knockoff.

I can’t wait to get started in here, but first I need to finish the floors upstairs (hallway is done, guest room is next!) Stay tuned for an update on that this week!

I LOVE every bit of this design! The blues are so beautiful and I cannot wait to see your version of that crazy expensive rug. I’m sure it’s going to be beautiful!!!

And I love that you are modifying many existing items to achieve the look you want! SO CRAFTY! :)
